Tom passed away on December 11, 2023, at the age of 97 years. 

He is survived by his wife Margaret (Brass) and his children: Linda, Rick (Dianne) and Kathy (Mike) as well as numerous grandchildren. He also leaves his family-in-law: Barbara (late William Brass), Jim (Pat Brass), Karen (Waren Boese), Ian (Manon Brass) and Heather (Bob Blair) and fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and extended family. 

Tom was born on Beech Ridge Road in Lachute, Quebec to Alma and Gordon Smith. In addition to his former wife Claire and his granddaughter Katrina, he was predeceased by his brothers, Harold (late Joyce) and Fred (Sheila), and a sister Lois (late Howard).

Tom was devoted to his family and community and always had a welcome and a story for everyone. A celebration of his life will be held in early summer at a date to be announced.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday May 18, 2024 at 2:30 pm at The Presbyterian church St.Andrews, 5 John Abbott St. St.Andre d'Argenteuil, Qc, J0V 1X0. Visitation at the church from 1:30 pm.
